Student Referrals
Refer your friend, receive a $1000 gift card!
If you’ve had a positive experience at Kaplan Business School, why not share it?
Many of our students first discovered KBS through a recommendation from someone they trust. If you know someone currently in Australia who is considering studying business, accounting or IT, you can introduce them to us. When your friend enrols and meets the eligibility criteria, you’ll receive a $1,000 gift card as a thank you.

FAQS
What is the KBS Refer a Friend Program?
If you’re a current KBS student, alumnus, or CoE holder, you can receive a $1000 gift-card for sharing your positive experience of studying at KBS with a friend or family member.
If your referral results in a new eligible student enrolling full time and remaining enrolled past census date in their first full trimester, you will receive a $1,000 gift-card.
This program is for genuine personal recommendations only — it does not make you a representative, agent, or employee of KBS.
KBS will determine eligibility at its discretion. Please refer to the Terms & Conditions.
Who can refer a friend?
You can participate if you are:
- A current KBS student
- A KBS alumnus
- A KBS Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) holder
To participate, you must:
- Act in your personal capacity only
- Not be an education agent
- Not be affiliated with or working for an education agent
- Not refer students as part of any business or organised activity
- Not be a current staff member of any Kaplan entity
You also cannot refer yourself.
Who can be referred?
To qualify under this program, the person you refer must:
- Be legally in Australia at the time of referral
- Be eligible to transfer (if currently studying elsewhere)
- Not be represented by an education agent at the time the referral is submitted
- Be genuinely new to KBS (not already in our system or a previous applicant)
When will I receive a $1,000 gift-card for my referral?
You will receive a $1,000 gift-card if your referred friend:
- Applies and enrols directly with KBS
- Pays all required fees on time
- Remains enrolled past census date in their first full trimester (T1, T2 or T3)
- Meets all eligibility requirements
If you are a CoE holder at the time of referring your friend, you must also still be enrolled at KBS at the time the gift-card is determined.
The gift-card is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
How do I submit a referral?
All referrals must be submitted by sharing the referral link and your KBS student ID (referrer code) with your friend.
Your friend will complete the referral form with your name and KBS student ID and their personal information.
KBS will contact your friend directly to discuss their study options and why KBS is the best option for them. KBS will then manage the entire admissions process too.
What am I allowed to do — and not do?
You are encouraged to:
- Share your genuine personal experience of studying at KBS.
- Talk about why you chose KBS.
- Share the referral link with your friends so that we can connect with them.
You cannot:
- Provide admissions, visa, migration or course advice to your friends. Leave that part to the KBS team.
- Represent yourself as a KBS employee or as an education agent.
The KBS Referral Program is simply about you sharing your positive experience with your friends who may also benefit by studying with KBS. Leave all the application support to us!
Who completes the refer-a-friend form?
You share the link with your friend(s), and it is up to them whether they share their details with KBS.
Can I post about KBS on social media?
Yes — we encourage students who have had a positive experience at KBS to share it on social media. However, this program is for genuine referrals, and must not be:
- Paid for
- Generated through bulk outreach
- Organised as part of a commercial activity
This program is for authentic personal recommendations only.
How many friends can I refer?
You can receive potential gift-cards for up to three (3) successful referrals in total. Additional referrals may be considered.
How will I receive my gift-card?
Once the eligibility criteria have been confirmed and your referred friend has enrolled past census date in their first full trimester, we will notify you about the $1,000 gift-card via email.
If I have issues with my gift-card, who can I talk to?
All support cases for the gift-card will be handled through the gift-card provider.
Can I receive payment from my friend?
