Unique Student Identifier (USI)

From 1 January 2023, all Kaplan Business School students, including those that commenced prior to 2021, need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to graduate and receive their testamur.

WHAT IS A USI?

The USI is a unique reference number issued by the Australian Government to any international or domestic student enrolled in recognised training or a higher education provider in Australia. A USI creates an online record of your qualifications attained in Australia. It is made up of a combination of ten letters and numbers and you only need to create it once. For international students and offshore students, further information is available at USI for Students. Offshore international students are not required to have a USI.

HOW DO I GET ONE?

If you’ve completed studies at a nationally recognised training provider in Australia in the past five years, you may already have a USI. You can check by visiting the government's find your USI information.

If you don’t already have one, it’s free and easy to create one. The process should take less than five minutes to complete. You’ll need to have a valid form of identification on hand, like your passport, to create your USI. You only need to create this once and you will have the same USI for all education you undertake in Australia. To help you get started, visit the USI website.

HOW DO I USE MY USI?

Once you have created a USI, you are required to update your Kaplan Business School student record through the Kaplink student portal. Kaplan Business School needs to verify your USI. Please ensure that the personal information you use to create a USI is exactly the same as the personal information you have provided Kaplan Business School. This will avoid the risk of having an unverified USI which will impact on your enrolment and graduation. You will need to have your USI organised before the start of the trimester.
