MBA401 People, Culture and Contemporary Leadership	MBA401 People, Culture and Contemporary Leadership This subject provides an understanding of the key concepts in managing the human resources within an organisational system. Students will learn how to evaluate and apply human resource considerations when making business decisions in line with an organisation’s strategic goals. Students will also gain an overview of current models of talent management, culture change, and the ethics of people management. Furthermore, this subject provides students with an appreciation of contemporary approaches to leadership as well as the opportunity to practice leadership across a variety of domains. Topics include: charismatic and transformational leadership; situational and adaptive leadership; contingency and ethical leadership.
MBA402 Governance, Ethics and Sustainability	MBA402 Governance, Ethics, and Sustainability This subject provides students with the key frameworks and skills to formulate and evaluate an organisation’s governance responsibilities. Topics include the role and duties of directors; the legal and regulatory environment in Australia; the establishment of, and adherence to, contracts; and the role of the board in the assessment of strategy and risk. This unit will draw on case studies of organisations that have been either successful or non-compliant. Students will also be able to design and apply governance frameworks to assess risk. Also, students will gain a deeper understanding of corporate sustainability and the obligations incumbent on leaders to build ethical organisations and cultures that are driven by social considerations as much as they are by commercial imperatives.
MBA403 Financial and Economic Interpretation and Communication	MBA403 Financial and Economic Interpretation and Communication This subject teaches students how to interpret and draw conclusions from financial information integral to the ethical operations of any business. To prepare students for assessing the liquidity, performance, and financial position of a company, this subject will expose students to the real-world financial statements of a diverse set of companies. They will evaluate accounting information taken from real financial statements using an understanding of accounting methodologies to assess company profitability, asset management, debt management and solvency. This subject also uses current case studies focusing on individual markets, consumers and firms to introduce students to microeconomic principles relevant to business decision making. Furthermore, current economic news and data will be employed to teach students how to apply macroeconomic theory to assess the performance of global economies and, most importantly, to communicate this information to a diverse range of stakeholders.
MBA404 Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Psychology	MBA404 Consumer Behaviour and Marketing Psychology This subject covers the essential concepts in understanding the consumer in a business setting. Students will gain an understanding of how consumer behaviour is linked to business strategy and how to utilise these understandings to improve market share ethically. Students will also be taught the way in which demographics, household structure and social status impact on consumer behaviour and decision making, and will examine how marketing strategies can influence these behaviours. Also, students will analyse rational and emotional consumer behaviours and the effects of social and cultural differences. Students will also assess the impact of external influences, internal influences and situational influences on consumer behaviour and purchasing habits, with motivation theory utilised in the application of an advertising campaign.

Topics include operations strategies, strategic thinking, and logistics. Students will develop the skills to build effective supply chains that support the business direction and examine internal and external forces that impact these operations. Students will formulate strategies, integrating ethical, social and global considerations, which will benefit organisational performance. This subject also teaches students how to source and utilise the right information to make strategic decisions about key business functions. This ability to use data in directing the activities of an organisation will consequently empower students to analyse and evaluate real-world situations using a wide variety of decision-making approaches and techniques. By learning these skills students will be better positioned to actively drive and participate in strategic decision-making within a business.
MBA504 Data Analysis, Problem Solving, and Digital Operations	MBA504 Data Analysis, Problem Solving, and Digital Operations This subject teaches students how to prepare and analyse data for use in making business decisions. Furthermore, they will be taught how to interpret and make inferences from a wide range of data, to identify data manipulation and employ predictive modelling techniques to gain an edge in a competitive global market. Students will also learn how to apply quantitative techniques, using mainstream software packages, to real-world business data to draw conclusions and solve problems. Furthermore, this subject provides students with the opportunity to develop knowledge of information systems and information technology in a business setting. Students will gain an understanding of the digital storage of various sources of information, as well as their security and delivery to various business stakeholders. Students will also use real-life case studies to identify and develop solutions to emerging problems within digital management network of the business.
MBA505 Business Psychology, Coaching and Mentoring	MBA505 Business Psychology, Coaching and Mentoring This subject provides students with an understanding of the theories of motivation, personality profiling and higher-order thinking and how to utilise these skills in business management. On completion, students will be able to explain a wide range of psychological constructs and will be able to demonstrate their practical application in a workplace setting. Also, students will be equipped with the skills, knowledge and ability that empowers them to motivate and develop others in a constructive way, even when the recipients of their coaching may be unwilling. More specifically, topics include the role of coaching and mentoring in organisations; the characteristics of great coaches and mentors; and the key techniques of practice.
MBA506 Thinking Styles, Negotiation, and Conflict Management	MBA506 Thinking Styles, Negotiation, and Conflict Management This subject introduces students to a range of thinking styles and how they can be adopted to inspire creativity, solve problems, and stimulate business success. In doing so, students will learn more about their default thinking style and whether this is serving them well, before applying the other methods to a diverse range of real-life scenarios. With this ability mastered, students will then be taught how to manage difficult conversations optimally by understanding the thought processes of others they encounter in business. This will include an understanding of the frameworks for effective negotiations; the processes for settling disputes between team members; and the effective management of workplace bullying, harassment, and other unproductive and toxic workplace situations.
MBA507 Internship	MBA507 Internship This subject will provide students with an opportunity to apply in a real work environment the theories and concepts they have thus far accumulated in this postgraduate qualification. The ultimate objective, however, of this work-integrated learning experience is that students will develop a more intimate understanding of the job-ready skills in demand by high-quality employers. Success in this subject should, therefore, result in an enhanced level of employability and then, once employed, students will reasonably be expected to generate accelerated development and performance by virtue of the foundational skills they have acquired in this program.

MBA601 Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship	MBA601 Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship This subject provides students with an understanding of the entrepreneurial start-up process. It will cover the internal and external environment for proposed business ventures, as well as the financial and operational plans deemed necessary for success. As part of this process, students will develop an appreciation of the risks and benefits of entrepreneurialism, and the ways in which these can be mitigated and embraced. Intrapreneurship will also form part of the curriculum.
MBA602 Small Business Administration	MBA602 Small Business Administration This subject covers the knowledge and skills students require to manage the ongoing demands associated with small business proprietorship. Students will analyse small business management decision making and strategies for success. They will also develop skills in creating three-year financial plans for small businesses utilising a case study scenario. They will examine legal and ethical issues and implications of the global marketplace and create a proposal for strategies to improve small business performance.
MBA603 New Venture Capital Raising	MBA603 New Venture Capital Raising This subject develops key skills and knowledge regarding the capital needs of all facets of an entrepreneurial project. It will guide students in examining and evaluating existing ventures through a critical lens. Students will develop a comprehensive method of analysis to inform their entry into the market. They will also generate recommendations arising from a risk assessment, thereby enabling them to understand capital raising from both perspectives: the investor and the entrepreneur.
MBA600 MBA Capstone	MBA600 MBA Capstone This penultimate subject provides students with the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned throughout their Master’s qualification and, most importantly, to show how it is all connected and synthesised. Using a real-life case study, students will be required to conduct primary research in an attempt to apply what they have learned to the case study in question, particularly in relation to how business leaders can influence and adapt to future trends. Final presentations and projects will be delivered to a number of industry stakeholders who will examine their proposed solutions.
