Q1: Can I study part-time?

A: Yes, as a domestic student you have the choice of studying either full-time or part-time. We provide flexible study options, such as evening classes, to make it easier for you to fit your study in around your work and personal commitments.

Q2: What are the entry requirements for Kaplan Business School courses?

A: Entry requirements vary between courses, and may also differ for domestic and international students. Please refer to the individual course pages on this site for more information.

Q3: What are the course fees?

A: Different courses have different course fees. Please visit the Fees page for more information.

Q4: Is FEE HELP available?

A: Yes. FEE HELP is available to eligible fee-paying students to help pay part or all of their tuition fees up to a lifetime limit of $83,313. Please visit the FEE HELP page for more information.

Q5: Can I apply for Centrelink benefits if I study full-time?

A: Yes, the following courses have been approved for Centrelink support: Diploma of Commerce, Bachelor of Business, Graduate Certificate in Accounting, Master of Accounting Studies, Master of Professional Accounting.

Q6: Are your courses accredited?

A: Yes. Our courses are accredited and recognised by the relevant government bodies. Our postgraduate accounting programs are accredited with CPA Australia (CPA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and the National Institute of Accountants (NIA), allowing our students to articulate directly into their professional qualifications.

Q7: Can I apply for entry into the second year of a double degree course at a university upon completion of the Diploma of Commerce?

A: Our Diploma of Commerce graduates can articulate into the second year of some double degrees. Pleasevisit the University Pathways page for further information or contact us.

Q8: Can I apply for credit transfer if I have previously studied similar units?

A: Yes, you can apply for credit transfer. Please contact us for details on what information is required as well as an application form. Please note that units of study for which credit transfer has been awarded will not be included in the GPA calculation.

Q9: Do you offer any scholarships?

A: Scholarships are available for our Master of Professional Accounting and Master of Accounting Studies. To be eligible for the $2,000 scholarship you must have achieved a minimum distinction average in a Bachelor’s degree. To be eligible for the $1,000 scholarship you must have achieved a credit average in a Bachelor’s degree.

Q10: Can mature age students study at Kaplan Business School?

A: Yes, mature age students are accepted at Kaplan Business School if they meet the relevant entry requirements. In fact, our learning environment is ideal for mature age students who want to learn in an intimate, supportive environment.

Q11: When are your intakes?

A: We have three intakes per year for all our courses: March, June and October (summer session). Please visit the Important Dates page for more information.

Q12: How many contact hours will I have every week?

A: Students in our Diploma of Commerce can expect to study up to 20 hours per week full-time. Students in our postgraduate accounting courses will study approximately 16 hours per week full-time.  Part-time students workloads will vary depending on how many courses you are enrolled in.

Q13: What services and facilities are available to me if I study at Kaplan Business School?

A: As a Kaplan Business School student you will have access to a range of services and facilities, including:

  • KaplanCareer, an outcomes-focused careers service dedicated to ensuring you are job ready upon completion of your course
  • an extensive online library and an impressive array of online resources
  • study skills coaching, individual tutoring and further English language support
  • general Academic English courses ranging in length from 5 weeks to 40 weeks depending on your needs

Q14: What are the benefits of studying at Kaplan Business School?

Q15: How will I be looked after at Kaplan Business School?

A: Your experience as a Kaplan Business School student is extremely important to us. Our team is committed to providing you with all the support and encouragement you need to enjoy your studies and to do the best you can.

Q16: Am I able to transfer between the Master of Professional Accounting and Master of Accounting Studies?

A: The Master of Professional Accounting comprises 12 courses, which are also part of the Master of Accounting Studies. If you have successfully completed the Master of Professional Accounting, you can choose to go on and complete an additional four courses to achieve the Master of Accounting Studies qualification. Q17: What assistance is available if I am struggling with my studies?

A: You will have access to free study skills coaching sessions each week. Lecturers are also available outside of class time for an extra two hours each week to provide you with additional support. In addition, you can choose to be assigned a personal tutor. Academic counsellors will also monitor your progress and provide assistance as necessary.
