The Master of Accounting (MAcc) is a graduate conversion course designed especially for students who wish to enter the accounting profession but who have limited or no previous experience in accounting.
In the Master of Accounting course, you’ll develop your ability to think critically, in addition to the essential business and accounting skills potential employers expect in the workplace. You will study a range of subjects including, management and financial accounting, business and corporations law, financial reporting, corporate governance and regulatory processes, marketing management and professional communication.

02. Analysis & Application
Analyse contemporary accounting issues within a range of theories and frameworks. Apply strategic management and marketing techniques to a range of business situations.
Be classified as an ‘accountant’ in accordance with the requirements of the Australian Standard Classification of Occupations (ASCO Code: 2211-11)
Be eligible for admission into the professional courses offered by the ACCA, CPA Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA)
OUTCOMES & FUTURE STUDIES
POSSIBLE CAREER PATHS
Graduates are typically employed in taxation, financial advice, costing, investigative accounting, strategic management and management consulting. Many company directors and managers have graduated with accounting qualifications.
PATHWAY TO FURTHER STUDIES
Master of Accounting graduates are eligible for admission into professional programs offered by the ACCA, ICAA and CPA Australia. Graduates may also apply for credit entry into the Master of Business Administration or a related graduate degree at another Australian higher education provider.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Students may be eligible for credit for academic work previously completed and should apply to the School for this to be recognised as an exemption from individual units of study. Students are able to receive exemptions of up to 50% of the course from a relevant postgraduate qualification, and up to 30% of the program from a relevant undergraduate qualification.
