Our General Academic English courses are designed to improve your English language skills in speaking, listening, reading and writing, and prepare you for entry into our undergraduate or postgraduate courses.
The courses focus on academic and business terminology, vocabulary and functional language so you gain the skills needed to be confident and successful in your studies and your career. You'll also learn a variety of learning strategies and use computers and the internet to develop your word processing and research skills, as well as learn about Australia and its people and explore patterns of communication and social interaction in Australia.
Course length
The length of the course you undertake will depend on your English proficiency. If you do not have an IELTS score, please contact us to arrange an individual consultation so we can tailor a program to your needs.
Equivalent English language tests are also recognised and in individual cases we may accept alternative evidence of an applicant’s English language proficiency. Lower level courses are also available upon request.
International students from Assessment Level 3 and 4 countries are required to submit an IELTS test certificate to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) as part of the student visa application process.
We recommend that you consult DIAC’s English language requirements before applying for a student visa. Visit www.immi.gov.au for more information.
